Crush (Chapter 8)

A week later

Alexia sat at the bar in her house where a party was held. She sipped her glass of water while gazing at the dancing bodies dancing across the room. "Lex...this is a nice party you have." Viviana mentioned as she took a seat beside her.

"Thanks." she smiled sincerely, and glanced at her diamond necklace. "Wow. I love the necklace. Who bought it for you?" she looked down to glance at her necklace.

"Oh...Bobby. He's such a sweetie. He should be out there somewhere. He's trying to stay as far away from my brother as possible. They can't get along." she chuckled.

"Joey is so demanding. Which reminds me...Justin bought me a diamond necklace also. I can't wait to see it." she paused and held her head down. "I miss him so much. I can't believe I survived for a month and two weeks now. In two more weeks...they'll be back home." she frowned.

"Yeah. I'm not excited to see Joey. He's always...in my business." she complained.

"He loves you...that's all." she assured. "But I do know how you feel. I had a brother like that, but the bad thing about it...he was younger than me. Ahaha." she chuckled.

"That's insane." she glimpsed at the glass of water she sipped. "Why aren't you drinking vodkas or...alcohol like the rest of us are?"

"Oh...I would but...I don't know if it's good for the baby. Besides...Justin would be pissed if he DID find out I drunk alcohol while being pregnant." she nodded.

"Yeah. I forgot about that." they both watched people dance to the slow music that played throughout the room. "Oh guess what?" her eyes lit up. "How did you get discovered in the modeling business? I was just wondering."

"Well...one day...I was just chillin at the mall with my homegirls and...this guy approached me. He was looking for new faces. That's how I got discovered. Why?" she asked curiously.

"That's the SAME way I got discovered." she held a strange look. "Last week...I went to the mall with Whitney...JC's cousin and...this guy approached me. He was also looking for new faces. Girl...I'm gonna be posing for Covergirl's." her eyes lit up.

"OMG! You can't be serious." she spoke surprisingly.

"Serious as can be. I can't wait."

"I'm so proud of you, girly. Aw." she embraced her in a hug. "Trust me...you're gonna love modeling. I love it. I've been modeling for three years now...ever since I hooked up with Justin and I haven't gotten tired of it yet." she swayed to the music. "I wish you good luck."

"Thanks a lot." she scanned the people in the room. "There goes Bobby. I'll talk to ya later."

"Alrighty." she watched her jog up towards him.

"Hey, stranger." she gawked to the side to focus in on a friend of hers. She gasped as her eyes lit up.

"Wanda? Hey girl." they embraced each other in a warm hug. "I missed you a lot. I haven't spoken to you in months." she over exaggerated.

"Nah. I don't think it was that long." she took a seat beside her. "So...why didn't you plan the party at Justin's place? It's more bigger. And plus...he has a huge pool and Jacuzzi out back. You could've had a pool party or something."

"Well...I would have but...he asked me not to have any parties at his house because of all the work leftover." she paused.

"You know I respect him. So...I just decided to have it here." she explained.

"Yeah. I understand. Well...at least there is a party. Everyone from the BLOCK is here. It's too damn packed up in here." she giggled.

"Tell me about it. I know I'm gonna have a lot of work to do afterwards."

"Don't worry about it. I'll help you out." she offered.

"Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it." she licked her lips and brushed her hair back.
________

Michelle paced back and forth in her dressing room as she song to herself, a routine she would do before she performed. "La la la la la la laaaaaaa. Heyyyy. Oohhhhh." a knock on the door startled her. She quickly focused in on the door, completely feeling nervous all over. "Um...come in." the door slowly flew open and a familiar guy entered the room. "Oh...hey." she smiled warmly.

"Hey." Lance entered the room, and closed the door behind him. "Um...I know this is the first time...performing in front of millions of people and I can imagine how you feel." he took a seat on one of the chairs. "Back in '97...when we first started performing for huge audiences...I also was nervous before I gotten on stage. I sometimes...felt like backing out. But I couldn't...because I realized that...I gotten too far to mess things up now." she took a seat beside him. "What I'm trying to say is...do your best. IF a few people dislike you...there will ALWAYS be someone out there who admires you." he paused, gazing deeply in her eyes. "I admire you." her eyes lit up.

 "Really?" she asked surprisingly.

"Yes. I think...you have a beautiful voice, and you're very talented. I just...want to see you succeed. You made it too far." she smiled, and held her head down, fiddling with her fingers.

"Thank you. You really...made me feel better." she looked up to gaze in his eyes. "I feel very energetic now." he chuckled.

"No problem. That's what friends are for." she kissed him on the cheek, and embraced him in a tight hug.

"Thanks Lance. I really appreciate it." he closed his eyes, enjoying her warm touch.

"No problem." he skimmed her back soothingly.
________

Katelyn sat on the sofa, watching television. She held the tissue to her nose as she sneezed softly. "Damn."

"Hey, Katie." Taneshia entered the living room, and took a seat on the sofa beside her.

"Hey." she sniffled, and blowed her nose out.

"Ew." she held a disgusted look. "Poor you. Too bad you can't go to the party Lex has." she stood up and grabbed her purse.

"You can't either." she held a confused look.

"And who said so?" she spoke with attitude.

"Your mother. Remember you're on punishment for trying to sneak in Chris's room." she rolled her eyes.

"You think I'm gonna stay HERE...on the weekend just because I tried to sneak in my stupid ass brother's room? I don't think so, and KNOW one is gonna make me. I'm gone." she watched her head towards the front door.

"Just don't say I didn't warn you." she pulled the front door open, and exited the house. The phone rung loud and clear. She reached over and picked it up, placing it beside her ear. "Hello? Oh hey, sweetie. I missed you. No. I just have...a little cold. The baby's doing fine. Well Alexia is throwing a huge party at her place. I couldn't go because...I'm not feeling too well. Oh yeah...your bratty sis tried to sneak in your room. She's on punishment but of coarse...she didn't stay put."

 An hour later

Katrina and Alexia fixed the last batch of brownies in the kitchen, also preparing other dishes. "Ahaha. I dunno. Maybe I'll name him Joey junior if it's a boy. If a girl...probably Josephine. I dunno yet. We'll see."

"Well...if I have a boy...I'm gonna name him Justin or Randall, Justin's middle name. And if I have a girl...she will be called Justina OR...Christina. Those are my fav names. Or maybe Elizabeth...my last name." she stirred the cookie dough. "Justin probably would want to name the boy. IF so...that would be also fine. I wanna have at least two children. A boy and girl."

"So do I. But...I dunno if Joey and I will have another child soon. He wasn't too pleased when he found out."

"Did you deny being pregnant at first?" she asked.

"Um...well yeah. A few times." she stammered lightly.

"See that's the problem. He wasn't upset about you being pregnant...he was upset because you denied it. The same between Justin and I. Justin DOESN'T mind have a child but...he DOES mind being lied to. That's a reason why we haven't spoken for a whole month. Well over a month."

"Oh..." she managed to spit out. "Well I wonder what he's doing."

"Probably flirting like the usual." the looked over their shoulder to stare at an African American woman. "Joey was always known as the flirtatious one." they held strange looks.

"Who are you?" Katrina asked curiously.

"I'm Latise." she extended her hand out to shake hers. "Call me Kelley." she shook her hand, and gazed at Alexia. "Hello, Alexia. You're always on a magazine WITH Justin of coarse." she also shook her hand.

"Who are you? I mean...how did you get in? I don't even know you."

"I remember this being a block party. Usually everyone in the neighborhood comes." she chuckled, and scratched her forehead in embarrassment.

"Oh yeah. Sorry. I must've forgotten that quick. Ahaha." she chuckled. "So...are you knew to the neighborhood? I've never seen you around."

"Well...I'm visiting a good...close friend of mines." she glimpsed at Katrina. "He's not here right now. I might have to come back another time." Katrina lifted her eyebrows questionably.

"Who is he? Should we know him?"

"Oh...you should. I'm sure Alexia should also." they both held questioning looks. "Well...I'll leave you two to what you were doing. I don't wannd hold you up." they watched her turn and head out of the kitchen.

"Wait...what did you say your name was?" she slowly twirled around to face them.

"Latise. A.k.a. Kelley."

"Oh yeah. Well...you could chill with us. We don't mind. We were just...preparing food for later on tonight." Katrina offered.

"Um...I would love to but...we just met and..."

"It's okay. Really. Unless you don't want to. We under..."

"Nah. I would love to." they smiled warmly.

"Great. Well...you could cook? We need to finish the last batch of hot wings." they continued preparing the food.
_________

See my days are cold without you
And I'm hurtin while I'm with you
And though my heart can't take no more
I keep on running back to you

Ashanti's "Foolish" played throughout the house as the people danced to the music. Lisa laid on her bed with her boyfriend, making out. He trailed his hand up her thigh as they met lips with one another. "Mmm." he slowly unbuttoned her jeans, and pulled them down.

"Um...wait. I..." he paused and looked up to gaze in her eyes. "I don't...think we should...be doing this. I mean...anyone could barge in on us." he chuckled pathetically.

"Like who? No one's here. We're all alone. Justin's on tour...and Alexia is at her place throwing a block party. Who could possibly barge in on us?" she held her head down.

"Well..."

"What's the real reason?" she licked her lips, and looked up to lock eyes with his.

"Okay, um...I sort have been...lying to you. I'm...I'm still a virgin." his eyes lit up. "I'm sorry. I know...this may...change the way you feel about me. I just...wanted to feel cool. You know...I wanted to be in the in crowd." he held his head down.

"Lise...you didn't have to lie to me to feel cool. I liked you from the start. I'm not gonna break up with you over this." he paused. "Look...if you're not ready...then I'll understand. I don't wanna rush you into losing your virginity. Just promise me...you'll start telling me the truth from now on. I want our relationship to work out, okay?" she smiled sweetly.

"Okay, and...I promise to tell the truth from now on." he chuckled softly.

"Good." she bit the bottom of her lip, and slowly began kissing down his neck.

"I also...wanna continue what we were doing." his eyes lit up.

"Are you sure?" she nodded. "Positive? One hundred percent sure?"

"Yes, yes yes." she climbed on top of him, and met lips with his.

 Two hours later (11:35 p.m.)

Justin sat on the sand out on the beach, listening and watching the ocean waves roar. He closed his eyes, and inhaled the cool scent. "Hey." he quickly gawked to the side to stare at Tiffani.

"Hey." he smiled and focused back in on the ocean.

"Do you mind if I join you?"

"Um...not at all. I was just...thinking about some things." she took a seat beside him.

"Like what? IF you mind me asking."

"Well..." he intertwined his fingers together, and met eye contact with her. "...things like...how it's gonna be when I get back home. I can imagine how Alexia is gonna look. I bet she's gonna still be beautiful...of coarse with a couple of pounds gained. But she'll still look beautiful no matter what." he held his head down.

"You can't stop thinking of her, huh?" he looked up to gaze back at the ocean.

"Of coarse not. If you've ever been in love...you'll know what I'm talking about." he licked his lips.

"Actually...I've been in love before." he slowly gawked to the side to stare at her. "Um..." she reached out and rubbed through his hair. "It didn't work out though." she paused. "What I'm trying to say is...you can be in love, but...things won't always work out."

"Hmm. Well...things are working out perfectly fine between Alexia and I."

"Are you sure about that?" she spoke softly. He leisurely looked up to lock eyes with hers. "How do you know she's not with a guy as we speak?" she trailed her finger down his chest.

"I trust her." he bit the bottom of his lip as he eyed her lips. "We both trust each other. That's what relationships should be about. Trust, and honesty." she scrutinized his features carefully.

"You know...I always wondered how it would be if I ever kissed you." he held an awkward look. "A lot of people always told me that you were a good kisser. Even though they never kissed you before." she held her head down. "I'm just a very curious girl, that's all." he shook his head pathetically, and looked away.

"You're not gonna trick me into kissing you. No way. So you could black male me? I don't think so. I thought you were different from these other girls. I thought I was wrong." his cell phone went off. "Excuse me." she watched him stand up and head further down the ocean walk. "Hello?" he answered.

"Hello? Hey, baby." the familiar voice responded.

"Hey. I missed you so much. What's going on down there? I hear music."

"Well I'm having a party." he stopped, and stuffed his hand in his pocket, gazing at the ocean. "Where are you now? It sounds so quiet."

"I'm out at the beach...by our suites. I miss your face, baby girl. And your precious lips. I think I'm gonna die." she chuckled.

"We only have two more weeks. So...how was the concert?" he frowned, and gazed to the side to see Tiffani still sitting in the same spot.

"It went okay. Um...you gotta help me. All the back up dancers have crushes on me." he paused. "Even Tiffani...the chick I introduced you to at the dance rehearsals that day."

"You see...I knew it. The way she was all up on you...I just knew it. That's why I wanted to meet her. No one is gonna steal my man away from me." he chuckled.

"Oh yeah...did you talk to my mom lately? I tried calling her...but no one would answer. I wanted to tell her that Michelle did great on stage today. Lance had a little talk with her. Ever since...she wasn't afraid to perform. She's doing really well."

"Cool." there was a slight pause. "So did you meet any new people?"

"You should know the answer to that already. I meet new people practically every day. Ooh you're Justin Timberlake. Can I have your autograph?" he mocked in a girly like manner. She giggled. "Any way...same question for you."

"Um..." she paused to think. "Oh...Katrina and I met this girl who said she's a close friend to one of you guys. She never told us the name. Her name is Latise, but she wants us to call her Kelley."

"Hmm." he squinted his eyes as he thought of who it could be. "Um...Joey was telling me about this chick named Latise, but...she was his ex."

"Well I know that's not the one we're talking about." he chuckled. "Well...I gotta go check up on my wings. I'll call first thing tomorrow morning. I promise."

"Nah...I'll call you. I shouldn't be too busy." she smiled compassionately.

"Okay. I'll talk to you then. I love you. Bye."

"I love you too. Peace." he turned his cell off, and slowly approached Tiffani who remained seated. "Um...I'm going back inside. Are you staying out here?"

"Um...nah. I'll come back with you." she stood up and brushed down her outfit as they headed towards the suites.
