Crush (Chapter 3)

The next day

Alexia and Katrina headed towards the dance rehearsal building as the music inside began to get louder. "Damn." They could wake the WHOLE neighborhood up. I hope he's almost finished. It's going on three." they entered the building to see the five familiar guys and a group of women in the room dancing. "Damn."

It's almost 2 o'clock
It's time to make my move

She focused in on Justin who danced up closely with a woman.

The after hours spot
Is where I'm going to
Cause I gotta have some more
Looking for somebody to hit the dance floor

"Hmm." she took a seat on a chair and crossed her leg over the other.

And lucky for me I see
A fine young lady's eying me

He focused in on Alexia, instantly breaking his concentration. "Shit." he mumbled. The music stopped. "What's wrong, Justin?" the choreographer asked frustrated. "You haven't screwed up all day. Why now? we're almost done here."

"Um..." he rubbed through his hair in frustration. "Sorry. I need a drink." all eyes were on him as he headed towards his duffle bag. He grabbed his bottled water, slowly gulping it down, just realizing everyone was staring at him. "What? Keep practicing." slowly, they all continued what they were doing. The music once again blasted through the speakers. He kept his eyes on Alexia who spoke to Katrina as he slowly approached the two. "Hey." he spoke up.

She looked up to gaze at him. "Hey. What's up?"

"Um...what are you doing here? Rehearsal isn't finished until another hour."

"I have a right to come here if I'd like." she stood up. "So...I see you were...sorta busy...dancing with that chick." he rolled his eyes.

"She's just a hired back up dancer. Nothing more." he sipped his water.

"Oh really? Well...introduce me to her." He chuckled pathetically.

"Yeah right. So you can start a big confusion? I don't..."

"No. I'm not gonna start anything. I swear. I just wanna meet her." he gazed deeply in her eyes.

"Fine. Tiff..." he called while waving his hand. She stopped dancing and slowly approached him.

"What's up?"

"Um..." he locked eyes with Alexia. "I want you to meet someone. This is my girl...well fiancé. Alexia this is Tiffani...one of our BACK UP dancers."

"Hello, Tiffani." Alexia extended her hand out to shake hers.

"Hey. How ya' doin?" she shook her hand.

"I'm cool. Nice meeting you."

"No prob. By the way...I like your outfit. It's cool." she glanced at Justin. "Darren is waiting on you." she turned and jogged up towards the rest of the dancers.

"See...she's OUR BACK UP dancer. Nothing more." she rolled her eyes and grabbed her purse. "I was paired with her BY Darren if you wanted to know why I was dancing with her."

"Well...don't explain. Just hurry your ass up. I'll be at home with Lisa. She wants me to pick her up from the airport. She flew ALL the way from Iowa this morning." his eyes lit up.

"Oh my god. I forgot she was coming over. Shit. I'll try to be home within the next hour. If not...start dinner without me."

"Alright. Love you." she pecked him on the lips. "See you at home." he bit the bottom of his lip as he watched the two exit the building.

__________

Justin drove up towards the second window in the drive thru at Taco Bell, and rolled down his window. "Um...you said thirteen twenty." he spoke while pulling out a  twenty. He locked eyes with the individual and squinted his eyes to get a better look, suddenly realizing who it was. "Savannah? What are you do...I mean..."

"Oh hey, Justin. It's been a  long time."

"Yeah." he handed her the twenty.

"So...how long have you been here? I mean...at Taco Bell." she handed him his change.

"A few months now." he nodded.

"What happened with the record label deal? Did everything work out?" she handed him a tray of cokes.

"It really...didn't work out for me." he accepted a few bags of food.

"Well...I could help you out. If you're still interested in getting that singing job. I could make it happen. My friend has his own record label. My manager is always looking for new talent. I could put in a good word for you."

"Justin...I don't need your help, alright? You've done enough. Just...take your food and leave...please." he held an awkward look.

"Are you sure? I..."

"YES! I'm sure. Now go. You're holding up the line. I'm fine where I'm at now." he bit the bottom of his lip as he thought of something.

"Alright. Um...bye." she watched him pull off.

"Welcome to Taco Bell. May I take your order?" she spoke in the headphones.

"Savannah...someone IMPORTANT needs to see you." a friend employee spoke as she stuffed a bag of food.

"Who is it? Tell them I'm BUSY. We have a whole HEAP of people..."

"It's Justin Timberlake from *N Sync. He says he's your ex boyfriend or something like that. Go see what he wants. I'll cover for you."

"Shit." she quickly removed her hair net and ran in the restroom.

Justin took a seat at a table and intertwined his fingers together. He looked up to see a familiar woman approaching him. Right then, he just realized how much he missed her. "Hey." she greeted.

"Hey. Um..."

"What are you doing here? I'm sorta busy now. We have..."

"Will you join me for lunch? I have plenty of food."

"Well I...I can't. I'm still on duty."

"Don't worry." he stood up. "I took care of that. You see...your manager happens to be a HUGE *N Sync fan. I hooked her up with a couple hundred dollars and she let you free...for the remaining of the day."

"What? LOOK...you can't just come in here AFTER THREE years and think you could RUN things around here. What about me? WHERE am I gonna get MY money? I DO own an apartment now."

"Don't worry. I'll take care of everything. I have enough money to take care of your rent for a life time." she rolled her eyes.

"Please don't start with that bragging shit. I HATE when you do that."

"What?" he held an hilarious look. "I'm not bragging. I'm trying to help you for Christ sake. Why don't you stop complaining. You know what? Maybe it was a bad idea to have interrupted you during work. I'll leave. See you later." she watched him turn and head towards the front door.

"Wait...um...I think I might take that job offer." he smiled slyly, slowly turning to face her.

"Cool." she formed a smile on her face.

_________

"How many months are you, Katelyn?" Karen, JC's best friend asked, sitting next to her.

"Um...I'm four months now." she nodded, taking a sip of her wine cooler.

"Here we go." Chris entered the living room with a tray of snacks. "Take some." he spoke to Karen.

"Hmm." she grabbed a few bologne snacks. "Thanks."

"No problem. As for my girlfriend...I don't think it's good for the baby. Nah. I'm just kiddin. You could have some too." she rolled her eyes playfully and gazed at the television screen.

"You're gonna get enough of picking off me." he chuckled.

"I'm sorry." Taneshia entered the living room with Tami.

"What's up, guys? We just came back from the mall." she announced, heading up the stairs with her bags.

"OH...I brought you something." Tami handed Chris a gift wrapped box.

"Tami...COME ON!" Taneshia spoke angrily.

"Alright. I'm coming." she gave Katelyn a dirty look and jogged up the stairs.

"That girl have problems." Katelyn spoke, while shaking her head pathetically.

"Tell me about it." Chris agreed.

Two hours later

Justin entered the house with a few bags of food in his hands. He kicked the door close, and entered the living room to see two familiar women sitting on the sofa. "Lisa?" he dropped his bags, staring in shock.

"Justinnnnnn." she jumped up and hopped on him. "I missed you so much." he chuckled and pulled back to stare in her eyes.

"Look at you. All grown up now. You look great." she blushed.

"Thanks. So do you." she took her seat on the sofa. He locked eyes with Alexia, his smile slowly fading.

"Um...hey." he grabbed his bags and proceeded towards the kitchen.

"I'll be back." Alexia stood up and entered the kitchen.

Justin was startled by a squeaky sound. He looked over his shoulder to gaze at her. "How was your day?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the food while putting them away.

"It was...okay." she wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. "I enjoyed last night. It was really...something." he turned to face her.

"So did I." he pecked her on the lips and brushed pass her. "I gotta hop in the shower. I have this meeting to attend in two hours. We're back on tour next week."

"What?" she raised her voice. "This is SO not fair. You're LEAVING me AGAIN?!"

"Baby...ONLY for TWO months." she rolled her eyes.

"ONLY for TWO MONTHS?! ONLY?!' she yelled. "I CAN'T SURVIVE THIS TIME! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'VE BEEN THROUGH LAST TIME YOU WENT ON TOUR?! IT WAS A DISASTER!"

"Sweetie...lower your voice." he attached his arms around her waist, gazing deeply in her eyes. "You have Lisa here. She'll keep you company."

"Ugh." she slapped him across the face. "I hate you." she stormed out of the kitchen.

"Damn." he rubbed his cheek in pain.

_________

"Yep? She isn't talking to you? Why?" Lance spoke on the cordless phone as he sat on the back patio. "That's a stupid reason. She should understand this is your job. This is what YOU make a living off of. If she was so concerned about it...why did she EVEN hook up with you in the first place? She knew she was gonna have to face it someday." Sarah, Lance's cousin stepped out on the patio and handed him a glass of lemonade. "Thanks, Rae. Now as you were saying? Yeah. That's dumb."

Sarah entered the house, heading straight towards the stairway, suddenly the doorbell ringing. "I'll get it." she jogged up to the door, unbarring it and pulling it open. "Hey. Come in." Andrea, Lynn's niece entered the house.

"What's up? What's going on around here? It's boring at my aunt's house." she followed her further in the living room.

"Well nothing's really going on here. I WAS about to hop in the pool. Are you down?"

"Sure." she followed her up the stairs, and in her room.

Later that day

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Alexia screamed in the bathroom. Justin, who laid in bed practically hopped out of bed, in shock.

"What the hell?"

"Oh my god." she held a dismayed look.

"Lex...are you okay in there?" he asked, slowly approaching the door.

"Um..." she quickly closed the door. "Y...yeah. I'm straight...cool." she slouched on the stool, still in a daze. "Oh god no." she gazed at the pregnancy test. "What am I gonna do?" she began to cry.

"Are you talking to yourself in there?" a voice spoke behind the door. "Are you okay?"

"Um..." she sniffled and wiped underneath her eyes. "Yeah...I'm fine. I'll be out in a minute." she stood up. "Shit. Where should I put this?" she quickly looked for a place to hide the test. Her eyes focused in on a place on the toilet. "Great." she forcefully lifted the lid and dropped the item in the water.

Justin was startled by a loud noise. "Uh..." the bathroom door quickly flew open and Alexia peered out with a nervous look on her face. "I'm...fine." she giggled nervously, heading towards the bed.

He stared at her strangely, watching her every move. She threw on her silk see through gown and laid in bed beside him. "You sure you're okay?"

"Um...yeah. I'm great." actually, she felt horrible. She didn't know HOW she was going to tell Justin about her pregnancy, afraid of how he may react. She knew it wasn't the right time for him to EVEN think about being a father. With all the work he was busy doing, he could never find any time for her; let alone ANOTHER person. At that moment, she wished she was dead. Cruel, huh?
