~*Chapter 4*~

~The next morning~

Beverly moaned, and slowly opened her eyes. She rolled on her back, and looked up to see Justin entering the room, with a tray of food in his hands. “Good morning, sweetie.” he kicked the door closed, and took a seat beside her. “I made breakfast.”

“Mmm.” she slowly sat up, and rubbed her tired eyes.

“Are you hungry?”

“Um…what? Am I…hungry?” she spoke groggily. “Uh…yeah. Haha…I’m sorta hungry.”

“Good. Well I made breakfast for you.” he sat the tray on her lap.

“Wow…breakfast in bed. You’re so good to me.” she gazed at him.

“I am?”

“Yes. All the way.” she pecked him on the lips, and begin to eat. “Mmm. This is delicious.” he chuckled, and continued to watch her eat.

“I never thought JC would have such a beautiful cousin. It feels like I’m in love…and I’ve never been in love before.”

“Really? So…you’re saying that you’re in love with me?”

“Um…I believe so. I’m in love…with you. I wrote a song for you. That same night…when we met…I stayed up ALL night…writing this song, and…I will like to sing it to you. If you’d let me.”

“Well…sure.” she sat her tray aside and brushed her hair back.

“Okay.” he pulled out a paper from out of his pocket, and unfolded it. “Um…” he cleared his throat, and gazed in her eyes. “I don’t know why you care…he doesn’t even know you’re there. ‘Cause he don’t love your eyes. And he don’t love your smile. Girl you know that ain’t fair. The middle of the night…is he gonna be by your side? Or will he run and hide? You don’t know ‘Cause things ain’t clear. And baby when you cry…is he gonna be by your side? Does the man even know you’re alive? I got an idea. Why don’t you be my girlfriend. I’ll treat you good. I know you hear your friends when they say you should, baby. ‘Cause if you were my girlfriend. I’d be your shining star. The one to show you where you are. Girl you should be…my girlfriend.” she had tears in her eyes. She sniffled, and wiped underneath her eyes. “Does he know what you feel? Are you sure that it’s real? Does he ease your mind? Or does he break your stride? Did you know that love can be a shield?” he paused. “Um…that’s the two verses that I have so far. I wanna sing the bridge.” he stared in her watery eyes. “Ever since I saw your f ace. Nothing in my life has been the same. I walk around just saying your name. Without you my world would end, yeah. I looked around this whole damn place, and everything says you were meant to be…my girlfriend, yeahhhhh” he folded the paper. “That’s it.”

“Um…it’s…beautiful.” she sniffled. “I loved it.” he smiled.

“What else can I do…to show you how much you mean to me?”

“Did you really write that song for me?” he sighed.

“What do you think? I’m crazy for you, Bev. Can you understand that? Give me a chance. Pleassseee.”

“Justin…I don’t wanna be hurt.”

“Listen…” he held her hand and placed a soft kiss on it. “I’m NOT gonna hurt you.” she held her head down. “When was the last time you’ve been in a serious relationship?”

“Um…I think…about a year ago.”

“Okay…so when was the last time you’ve ever been intimate? Don’t count last night.”

“I told you already. You were my first.”

“Oh yeah. I forgot.” she licked her lips, and brushed her hair back. “Did your last boyfriend hurt you?”

“Well…yeah.”

“Physically or verbally?”

“Both.” she spoke without eye contact.

“Both? What the fuck is wrong with men now-a-days?” he stood up, and rubbed through his hair. She looked up to watch him pace back and forth in front of her.

“Are you upset with me?” he stopped, and glanced at her.

“Um…no. I’m upset with the guy who abused you.” she looked away, and slowly stepped out of bed. He watched her approach him, and wrap her arms around his neck.

“Don’t be upset. It’s over with now.”

“Why shouldn’t I be upset? The guy abused you. I don’t joke around when it comes to that.”

“Okay. Well…” she removed her arms from around his neck, and grabbed her shorts. “IF you can’t forget about it…then we can’t be together.”

“Beverly…” he approached her. “Okay. I’m sorry. I’ll forget about it.”

“Promise me.” he wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed down her neck.

“I promise. Just don’t…be upset with me. Alright, baby girl?” he looked up to stare in her eyes.

“Alright.” he slowly leaned in to kiss her when the phone ringed.

“Um…” he released her, and picked up the phone, holding it by his ear. “Hello…”

“Hey. This is JC. Did you see my cousin anywhere?”

“Oh yeah. Um…she’s here?”

“Huh? What is she doing over there at ten in the morning?” he gazed at her, who stood in front of the mirror, combing through her hair.

“She sort of…stayed the night.” he gasped.

“Really? Did you have sex with her?” he chuckled.

“That’s none of your business.”

“Come on, man. She’s my cousin. I have the right to know.” he sat on the bed, and continued to watch her.

“Alright. Yeah.”

“You SLEPT with her? Already?” he spoke shockingly.

“Yeah. Why? It’s nothing big.”

“Yes it is. She was a virgin. I hope you didn’t hurt her.”

“No. I didn’t. everything worked out perfectly fine.”

“Okay. I’m gonna ask her, and if she said you hurt her…I’m gonna kick your ass.” he laughed.

“In the next lifetime. Oh…she’s calling me now. I have to go.” he lied, and turned the phone off.

“Who was that?”

“That was your…BIG cousin checking up on you. How sweet.” he stood up, and stood closely behind her. “So…are you gonna…let me be a part of your life?”

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know. Could you make this easy for me and answer me with a yes or no?”

“Justin.”

“Beverly…” she turned to face him, and rested her hand on her hip. “Answer me. Yes or no.” she rolled her eyes, and pulled the bedroom door open. He followed her out of the room, and down the stairs. “Come on. Please don’t ignore me.”

“I’m not. I’m just gonna get a glass of water.” he rolled his eyes, and followed her in the kitchen.

“So you can’t answer my question?”

“What question?” she leaned against the counter, and gulped down her water.

“You know what I’m talking about, Bev. Would you be my wife?” her eyes lit up.

“Pardon me? Your wife? We’ve only know each other for a DAY or two.”

“Oh…um…I meant…my girlfriend.” she sighed, and sat the glass on the counter.

“Excuse me.” she brushed pass him when he gripped her arm, and held her back.

“Beverly…I didn’t mean that. I don’t know. I guess…that’s what I really want deep inside.” she looked to the side to stare at him. “Forgive me?” she slowly parted her lips with his, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Ding Dong

He tried to pull away, but she rested her hand on the back to his head, and glued her lips to his. “I gotta…answer the door.”

“No. Don’t answer it.” she kissed down his chest.

“Daddy the door.” Jesse informed.

“Baby…I’m gonna answer the door, okay? We can finish this later.” she pecked him once more on the lips, and watched him exit the kitchen. Suddenly she heard a loud voice in the living room. She exited the kitchen, and entered the living room to see JC standing by the sofa. He looked up to stare at her.

“Hey, Bev. I missed ya’.” he embraced her in a hug, and kissed her on the cheek.

“Hello, cuz.” he released her, and took a seat on the sofa.

“So you’re a big girl now? Ya’ lost your virginity. This calls for a celebration.”

“What?” she looked up to stare at Justin. “You told him what we did? You asshole. How could you? You know what…fuck you, Justin. Last night shouldn’t have happened.” he watched her head up the stairs, and enter the room.

“Damn JC. You have the BIGGEST mouth in the world.” he ran up the stairs, and entered the room. “Beverly…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean…” she slapped him across the face.

“You gerk. I trusted you. Do you know that? Why do you think I gave up my virginity to you? I was SO close to giving you your answer. Ha…and now…I don’t think I wanna be your girl.” she grabbed her purse and keys. “Good bye, Justin.”

“Bev…please…” he gripped her arm.

“Let go of me.” she yanked her arm away, and exited the room. He banged his feet on the dresser, and held his head down. “Shit.”

~8 hrs later (6:12 p.m.)~

Justin entered JC’s house with a bouquet of roses in his hard. “Where is she?”

“She’s in the room.”

“Is she up?” he asked as he headed up the stairs.

“Yep. She’s up.” he stood by the door, and knocked on her bedroom door.

“Come in.” he pulled the door open, and peered in.

“Hey.”

“What are you doing here?” he walked in, and closed the door.

“Um…I came to apologize.”

“Apologizes not accepted. Now please leave.” he gazed at her very short skirt, and blue halter top.

“But you said I could come in.”

“YEAH I DID! BUT I THOUGHT I WERE JACE!” she raised her voice.

“Look Beverly…you don’t have to get all loud on me. I just want to apologize for telling our business to your cousin. Seriously…it’s not a big deal. He’s family, for Christ sake.”

“You think I don’t know that? Just please…go.” she stood up.

“But…”

“GO!” she yelled. “Get…out…of…my…room.” she demanded as she hit him. “GO! LEAVE…ME…ALONE!”

“NO!” he shot back, as he pushed her against the bed. He climbed on top of her, and pinned her arms over her head. “I’m not leaving until you forgive me.”

“Get off of me. Let me GOOO!” he parted his lips with hers, allowing her to shut up. “Mmm.” she moaned between his lips. He broke away, and pecked her once more on the lips before pulling away.

“Beverly…I love you. I’m IN love with you. You got me HOOKED on you. I don’t even know how you did it, but…all I know…I won’t take no for an answer. I WANT you to be mines.” she licked her lips, and looked away.

“I don’t…know, Justin. I love you too, but…”

“Look at me.” she slowly met eye contact with him. “Baby…I know this may be VERY sudden, because we’ve only know each other for a day or two, but…I NEED to be with you. So…since you wouldn’t accept my girlfriend offer…I’m going to have to go with the other.” she looked confused as she watched him kneel down on one knee, and pull out a black suede box. “Beverly…you are my life. Without you…I can’t live. I’ve never felt this way about a woman EVER, until I met you. You can say I’m crazy or stupid or even blind by your looks, but it’s not all about that for me. It’s what’s inside that makes me SO attracted to you. Baby…will you take my hand in marriage?” she remained quiet and stiff. She sniffled, and looked up to stare in his eyes.

“Give me ONE good reason why I shouldn’t kick your ass?” he chuckled.

“I don’t know. Maybe because you’re gonna marry me?” she smiled slyly. “Am I right?”

“Yes. I would love to marry you.” he slowly slid the ring on her ring finger, and met lips with hers. “I love you, baby.” she breathed between his lips.

“I love you too.”

~~**~~**~~

“Uhhhh…” she whimpered as he released his warm seed. He groaned deeply, and fell on top of her. She cried silently as she trembled. He looked up to stare in her eyes.

“Are you okay, sweetie?”

“Um..” she sniffled. “Yes.” she nodded meekly. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” he met lips with hers once again. Enjoying the moment like it was their last.
