Chapter 2Aaliyah sat on the sofa with her friends, Hailie, and Ariel as they watched a romance movie. “Aw…that was so sweet of him. I wish my man would do those things.” Hailie complained. “Maybe you need to follow my techniques. You will never go wrong.” Ariel mentioned. “Yeah whatever.” The doorbell rung loud and clear throughout their house. “I’ll get it.” Aaliyah stood up, and approached the front door. She unlocked it, and pulled it open to focus in on a familiar looking person. “Hey. You made it. Give me a second.” she grabbed her purse, and gazed at her two curious friends. “It’s him.” she spoke excitedly. “Ooh really.” Hailie shot up, and peered out the house to gaze at him. “Hey, Justin.” “What’s up, Hailie?” she smiled, and glimpsed at Aaliyah. “Do as I said.” Ariel whispered. “I’ll try. I’ll see you guys later.” she stepped on the porch and closed the door behind her. “Well…we can leave now.” he held her hand, and led her to his red Porsche. He pulled the door open for her, and allowed her to sit in, then hopped in on the driver’s side, and pulled out of the drive way. “So…” he began while driving down the road. “…what have you been up to?” “Um…well…as soon as I got home…I hopped in the shower…took me a short nap, then…I chilled at my cousin’s house for ‘bout an hour. Then…I came back home and hung out with my two close friends…watching romance movies. I love to do romantic things.” he chuckled. “Really? Well…you would love the place I’m taking you.” she held an awkward look. “Why would I love the place you’re taking me?” he shrugged his shoulders. “Hmm. You’ll have to see for yourself.” he grinned sexily, and looked away. ____________ Justin pulled up in a lot, and parked his car. “Where are we?” he pulled the passenger’s door open for her, and helped her out. “We’re at MY private house…out on the beach.” she smiled slyly. “Wow. I didn’t know you had a place out here.” he held her hand as he led her out on the sand. “Well now you do.” she followed him towards the beach house. “So…what’s so special about a beach house?” she asked curiously while walking up the stairs. “You’ll see.” he unlocked the door, and pulled it open. “You first.” he watched her enter the house, and gaze around the room in awe. “Oh my god.” he focused in on pictures of an African American lady, hanging on the wall. “What’s with the pictures…of this…lady?” “Well first of all…I think she’s very beautiful, and…unique.” she rolled her eyes, and turned to face him. “Mmm really?” she crossed her arms over her chest. “Yes really.” he moved in closer to her. “Because…she reminds me of you.” the sound of his voice, and the look on his face made a chill go down her spine. “Um…” she gulped down, and looked away. “Reminds you…of me?” she asked as she continued gazing at the pictures. “Yes. Very much. You both look alike, and…act alike. You have her beautiful long hair…dark brown eyes…pretty perfectly shaped lips which turns me on one hundred percent. Her sexy voice.” she began to get uncomfortable. “Um…” she turned and slowly ambled around the room. “Why did you bring me here?” “I wanted to be alone with you.” she turned to face him. “Alone with me?” she pointed. “Yes.” he leisurely approached her, and grasped her hands in his. “See…I’m attracted to you. I’ve been attracted to you since third grade. And I just realized my true feelings for you when I reached high school.” she gazed deeply in his eyes. “LiLi….I’m in love with you.” she held a baffled look. “What?” Aaliyah quickly sat up, breathing heavily. She gazed around the dimmed room, realizing she was dreaming. “Whew.” she brushed her hair back, and slowly stepped out of bed. “What a dream. Justin in love with me? Yeah right. I don’t compare to Oliver.” she exited the room, and jogged down the stairs, entering the living room afterwards. “Boy I’m thirsty as hell.” she entered the kitchen, and pulled the refrigerator open. Suddenly the phone went off the hook. She jumped slightly to the sudden outburst. “Shit.” she reached out and grabbed the phone, resting it by her ear. “Hello.” “Hello…LiLi?” “Um…” she glanced at the clock. “Yeah…this is her.” “Hey…what’s up? What are you doing now?” “Who is this?” she took a seat at the table. “Justin. You haven’t recognized my voice yet?” her eyes lit up. “Justin? What the hell are you doing calling around twelve?” she spoke with attitude. “It’s not that late. Actually I didn’t realize what time it was. Sorry if I interrupted you in…whatever you were doing.” “No…you didn’t interrupt me. Actually…I just got up. I had this weird dream about you. You were telling me how deeply you’re in love with me. It was stupid. I mean…why would you have feelings for me? You’re dating Oliver.” “Yeah.” he spoke softly. “Well…I was just calling to see were you okay. You didn’t come to school today. What happened?” “Oh…well I didn’t feel like it. And plus…I was too sleepy. I went out to the club with Hailie and Ariel the night before, and didn’t get in ‘til one. So…I needed my rest. I should be at school tomorrow.” “Hmm. Okay. Well…I’ll see you then. Meet me at the table we always meet.” “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night.” “Night.” she hung up, and sat the phone back on the receiver. “Oh boy…what a day.” she sighed, and headed back up stairs to her room. |
