HANGING AROUND

Chapter 6

THE NEXT DAY

“Becca…BECCA!” J.C. yelled. She ran down the stairs, and approached him.

“What?”

“I need your opinion on something. How do you think this look?” he showed her a cover of a c.d. picture.

“It’s awesome. What is it?”

“It’s the cover of our new album”

“Cool. I can’t wait to hear it”

“Me either” she turned around to see Justin. “Hey J.” they both kissed each other on the cheeks, and looked at J.C. who was staring strangely at them. “What?”

“Uh…nothing” she smiled and walked away. J.C. approached Justin.

“What was that?”

“We decided to do that, for greetings”

“You and my sister are not together, are you?” J.C. smirked. 

“No.” he smiled. “I swear. We went to the beach last night and wound up kissing. It was weird, but we’re not together. She thought you would be upset if we did, so she decided not to. Just because of you” he sat down.

“So you like her?”

“I’m not going to lie. Yes, I like her a lot. You’re sister is a very attractive person, with the body out of this world.”

“I’ll hook you up” Justin’s eyes lit up.

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah.” He left the kitchen. Justin smiled to himself, and stood up.

“Do you like him? He likes you a lot”

“Don’t you think he’s too old for me?”

“He’s only 2 years older than you. I meet people who goes out with people who’s 20 years older than the other. What is two years?”

“I don’t know. Are you sure he likes me?”

“Positive. Just talk to him” she sighed.

“Okay. That’s the least I can do” he smiled.

“Great. I’ll see you later” he left the room. J.C. walked down the stairs. “Everything’s set. She’s going to talk to you.” Justin smiled. J.C. sat by him. “When she comes down here. I’m going to leave you to by yourselves. Just tell me what happened, okay?”

“Yeah.” They both looked up to see Rebecca walking down the stairs. She approached them and sat between them. She stared at Justin then J.C.

“Do you mind giving us some privacy?” she asked J.C.

“Uh…sure.” He stood up. “I’m just going to be outside if you need me” he walked out the door, and closed it behind him.

“So…um…” Justin stammered.

“I like you and you like me?” she looked at him. “Is that correct?”

“Yep.”

“So…shouldn’t we do something about that?”

“Um…I believe so.” He paused.

“Am I asking you out or you asking me out?” she moved closer to him.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I’ll ask you” Justin took a deep breath and sighed.
