Inside information: Oh lord...now I can admit that this one the worse story I have ever wrote. I don't know what I was thinking. I was too bored. That's what it was. Well...a few ppl thought the story was okay, but to me...it actually didn't make any sense. I was just...bored and I wanted to do something. I don't wanna throw it away, so...I just put it on the site. Maybe someone out there will like it. Who knows? THE FAIR was written in the middle of '00...never revised. It took me a few days to write this story. I was at a fair when I came up with the idea.

IS THIS HAPPENING?

(CHAPTER 6)

“Wait, are you sure it’s the 3rd?”

“Yeah. It says it right here on my watch”. He said as he pointed to it.

“But we drove by a clothes store on our way here and I didn’t see a fair or any kind of fair material set up”.

“Stop it. You guys are scaring me”. Kim said as she hugged Joey tight.

“But all I’m saying is…wait a minute. We didn’t even see this poster hanging on this pole earlier”.

“What are you trying to say Kathy?” I asked. I was really getting scared myself.

“I’m saying. If this poster wasn’t here before how did it get here. It didn’t just put itself here. Somebody had to do it. We haven’t seen anybody in this neighborhood yet, but when we leave somebody to put this out here”.

“Come on you guys. You are all freaking out about something you’re not sure about. All we have to do is go down there where this fair is suppose to be located and see if it’s there” Joey said frustrated.

“Well we don’t have time to waist. Let’s get going”.

“But how are we going to get there?” I asked holding on Justin’s hand.

“We could take my car down there. Ya’ll just come with me to my house and we could leave from there”. We all followed him to his house. It was big and beautiful. We all hopped in Justin’s BMW and drove off.

30 minutes later

“See, what I told you. We circled this neighborhood twice and still didn’t find a fair in sight”.

“Well we could come back another day when it’s more light for us to see?” Lance said, trying to eye contact us from behind Samantha’s back.

“Okay. I’m getting tired any ways”. I said as I put my hand on top of Justin’s hand as he switched gears. I looked back to see Nancy, Samantha, Kathy, and Kim seating in each of the boy’s lap. The car was really stuffed. I wonder how we managed to get all of these people in it. I turned back to see Justin staring at me. He smiled while he was rubbing my hand. I mouthed him a kiss sign, and he just licked his lips in a sexy, teasing way. We were so busy teasing each other that we didn’t realize the light turned green.

“JUSTIN. DRIVE!”. J.C. yelled.

“Oh” he turned his attention back on the road.

Justin pulled up in our drive way and let us out. I walked to the driver’s door and slipped Justin my cell number. “Call me anytime. Soon we’ll have our house phone on and I’ll give you that one. So…see you later”. I kissed him on the cheek and waved back at the other guys.

I was the last person to get in  the house. As I was about to go upstairs to go to bed  I decided to get something to drink first. I went in the kitchen and poured me a glass of punch. As I gulped down I noticed a big red poster with a black permanent marker sitting on top of it. They were sitting on the kitchen counter. It looked like the same red poster that was hanging up on the light pole. I went upstairs to ask my mother about the posters. As I reached her room I crept in slowly until I reached her bed. I roamed my hands around until I felt her sleeping body. I tapped her until she woke up.

“MMM” my mother responded without opening her mouth.

“Umm…sorry to wake you, but I just wanted to know where did those red posters on the kitchen counter come from?”

“Umm…what red poster?” she seemed too sleepy to respond correctly.

“The red poster that’s on the kitchen counter with a black marker sitting on top of it”.

“Oh. A man, stopped by and asked me…” she yawned. “…if I could make some more for him and hang them around the neighborhood?”

“Huh? A man?” This was getting even weirder. We haven’t seen anybody around since 2:00 when we got here. Now it’s 9:00. “Ma’ could you tell me how he looked?”

“Mmm?” she was drowsing off.

“Could you tell me how the man looked?”

“Well…he was…tall…and had cur…ly…ha…” she drowsed back off to sleep.

“What? MAN.” I walked out of the room to my bedroom. I sat on the bed and thought thoroughly. “A man with curly hair. A tall man at that. Hmm. This man almost sounds like Justin. But it couldn’t have been. Justin was with me all the time. Or was he not?” I laughed at myself. “Man I’m really freakin’ out. now I’m talking to myself”. But this couldn’t be. It’s like every time we’re not around something happens. My friend warned me not to move down here. They said they heard a lot of rumors about this neighborhood. They say nobody stays here because of some incident that happened years ago. I asked her what happened and she couldn’t even tell me. So I was thinking she was lying because she always lied to me. She wasn’t really a good friend, but maybe she was telling the truth this time.
